Mrs. Mary Vella Appointed New MAPN General Secretary

The Maltese Association of Psychiatric Nurses is pleased to announce that Mrs. Mary Vella has been unanimously appointed to succeed Mrs. Charmaine Borg as the Association’s General Secretary. Mrs. Borg gave her resignation following the first year of MAPN’s existence due to commitments outside the Maltese Islands.

Mrs. Vella, who is 53, will be serving as General Secretary from Monday 1^st October 2007. She graduated as a Psychiatric Nurse in 2002 and is currently in charge of the Secure Unit at Mount Carmel Hospital.

MAPN’s council is confident that they selected the right candidate to fill such an important post. Mrs. Vella is certainly capable of meeting with the challenges that lie ahead.

The council wishes to express the deepest gratitude to Mrs. Charmaine Borg who was instrumental for the formation and growing of MAPN and extend a wholehearted good luck to the newly elected General Secretary.
