Positive Feedback Regarding Health & Safety Seminar

The half day seminar entitled 'Health & Safety in the Psychiatric Setting' held on Saturday 15th September at the training centre, Mount Carmel Hospital has come and gone and we are extremely pleased with the number of attendees and very positive feedback they passed on.

For this the MAPN would like to thank all those who made this event possible: Mr. Edward Borg, Mr. John Degiorgio, Mrs. M. Gaglione and Dr. Paul Micallef who helped in the organization and financing of this seminar. Without their help we would not have been able to organize a free seminar in such a welcoming venue.

We would also like to thank the speakers: Mrs. Marcia Gafa, Dr. Mark Xuereb, Mr. Paul Pace and Mr. Simon Borg who presented the audience with four extremely interesting presentations. Judging from the discussion generated by the workshop lead by Dr. Paul Micallef the subjects where extremely relevant to us professionals working in the psychiatric setting.

Last but not least we would like to thank all those who attended the event. As promised we will do our utmost to organize similar educational activities at Mount Carmel Hospital. Our aim is to generate interest and awareness amongst people working in the mental health field in topics which can ultimately improve the care given to our clients. We very much appreciate the positive comments we have received from many of you.

A full report of the event will be available on this blog and, later on, in the December newsletter.

We look forward to see you in future events organized by the MAPN.

Kevin Gafa` - Psychiatric Nurse

Webmaster's note: The seminar was not announced on the blog primarily because all available spaces were filled in a very short time.
