A little post to remind you of the two day introductory course on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that theMaltese Association of Psychiatric Nurses is hosting on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th of October at the Coastline Hotel in Qawra.
CBT is a type of psychotherapy which examines negative cognitive processes (thoughts, attitudes and beliefs). It also focuses on behavior in response to those thoughts. The aim of CBT is to provide the client, within a limited timescale, with the insight and skills needed to improve their quality of life. The client should continue to cope and to progress once therapy is finished. This kind of therapy has become increasingly popular in the past years and is often used as a replacement to or complementing drug therapy in a vast range of mental health problems including: depression, anxiety disorders, drug and alcohol addictions and eating disorders such as anorexia.
